SRO E-Sport GT Series AM Championship | Round 1: Silverstone (Review)

The opening round of the SRO E-Sport GT Series AM Championship produced plenty of adrenaline fuelled action, with an unexpected early conclusion. After all the drama, it would be HW Racing Team Bentley driver Nizar Sahraoui who crossed the chequed flag first in what was a thrilling race.

An esport debut for Fifth Gear presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson, the awesome voice of WTCC legend Martin Haven calling the action, 45 drivers pushing to the absolute limit of what their GT3 machines are capable of delivering and 60 (ok, 50 in the end) intense minutes of action on track that included overtakes, passing and crashes throughout the field – this weekend was an incredible showcase of the racing skills within our sim racing community.

As the SRO E-Sport GT Series is now a competitive championship season, rather than the standalone qualification events of 2019, you could easily be fooled into thinking that the 45 drivers who sat on the gird for the opening round would be content to adopt a safety first approach for the Silverstone race, bagging solid points and getting their championship campaign off to a solid start. Well, you would be wrong!

With only 60 minutes of racing scheduled following a brief 15 minute qualification period, the field were energised to make up time and places from the very first corner, with racecraft coming to the fore for many of the drivers, and the odd opening lap skirmish doing little to dampen the party atmosphere that surrounds an opening race weekend event.

With qualifying over and done, Nizar Sahraoui would be the man to start from Pole Position, the 35-year-old Spanish driver putting in a sublime performance in his HW Racing Team Bentley Continental GT3 to head a gaggle of Porsches in positions 2 – 6, with Paolo Muià acting as the McLaren meat in the Porsche sandwich, winding up P7 ahead of a further four 911 RSR GT3Rs come the green flag.

As the field headed into their opening formation lap, the question on everybody’s lips was; could Sahraoui keep at bay his potentially quicker Porsche rivals during the opening laps of the race, and would the big Bentley have enough outright pace to pull away at the front?

Once the green flag dropped, Sahraoui did exactly what needed to be done from the front of the grid, maintaining his composure to quickly build up a + 1 second lead over the chasing pack, as both Michele Nerbi and Alex Turato engaged in a lively battle for the final podium places. Further down the field, many of the 45 drivers managed to stay out of trouble despite what appeared to be a rather ambitious attempt at taking Stowe five wide on the opening lap.. thankfully everyone managed to stay clear of trouble, and the drivers quickly settled into a rhythm as they jockeyed for racing room and track position.

With Sahraoui initially looking likely to check out up front, the chasing pack of Porsches appeared to warm their tyres slightly quicker than the larger and more compliant Bentley, with Michele Nerbi rapidly closing down the early race leader and looking keen to find a way past the #138 Bentley.

Keeping a cool head and placing his car in exactly the right place at the right time, Sahraoui proved more than equal to the task of defending his race lead, gradually easing ahead by a tenth here and a tenth there, before taking significant time out of the rest of the field as they began the nerve wracking task of lapping traffic later in the race.

Sadly for the Lamborghini runners, the Italian brand had a difficult weekend at Silverstone, with none of the five drivers ever looking remotely like troubling the top 20 all race, and finding themselves involved in incidents (often with each other) at the rear of the field.

With the front three drivers pretty much locked in after the opening exchanges, attention would soon turn to what was a fierce fight for sixth position between Arnaud Lacombe and Tim Jarschel in the Virtualdrivers by TX3 and EURONICS Gaming Audi R8 LMS Evo machines, with both drivers producing a gratifying display of skill and awareness as they fought tooth and nail for the same piece of tarmac. Lacombe would have to draw on all of his experience to keep the quick German behind him, with much of the action centred around Vale as the two drivers showed precision driving to pass and re-pass at the difficult section of track.

SRO E-Sport GT Series 2019 Silver driver Gianfranco Giglioli would have a quiet race as he came home an uneventful ninth, the Italian lacking some of the outright pace we have seen last season, eventually failing to overcome the Paolo Muià Team Racing oN3 McLaren 720s as he picked up a useful couple of points from this opening encounter.

In the final points paying places would be Maxime Batifoulier in the second Virtualdrivers by TX3 Audi R8, the 26-year-old Frenchman having enjoyed a tight battle with his Russian Porsche rival Egor Ogorodnikov, eventually classifying just over a second clear of the previously delayed LADA Sport ROSNEFT eRacing Team star.

Early front runner Daniel Savini would have a torrid opening event in the Rebel Racing Team Porsche, the 22-year-old Italian showed impressive pace in qualifying to line up in the midst of the Porsche contingent in fourth, however things would quickly unravel for the driver as he became involved in an awkward incident with Cesare Penco, running out of track once again at the Vale section and collecting his Porsche rival and earning a drive-through for his troubles.

Sadly things would go from bad to worse for Penco, as the GTWR Racing Team driver would himself pick up a drive through penalty for unsafely rejoining the circuit, collecting an innocent Audi in his haste to get back into the midst of the fight following his accident. The incident and following penalties would relegate Savini to 28th overall, with Penco a further three places in arrears in 31st position.

Unfortunately, the race wouldn’t quite make the fully scheduled 60 minute duration, as sever issues at the event organiser side brought out the red flag with just under 8 minutes left on the clock. Having already completed in excess of 75% race distance, the decision was quickly made to call the final race result, sadly bringing to a close several potentially interesting battles developing as the race entered its final few minutes.

With some great racing, and incredible pace at the front and plenty of close fights, the SRO E-Sport GT Series AM Championship has very quickly proven itself to be right at the very top of the pile when it comes to quality – and in just six days time we will be doing it all over again at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium – stay tuned to the RaceDepartment Twitch channel for all the action, and the chance to win some amazing prizes for both drivers and viewers alike!

Nürburgring delivers dramatic double for SRO E-Sport GT Series

  • Barnicoat takes Pro Series victory for McLaren in photo finish
  • Wet-weather masterclass from Aston Martin ace Sicilia to capture Silver win

The SRO E-Sport GT Series delivered two action-packed races at the Nürburgring, with Ben Barnicoat beating Louis Deletraz in a photo finish to give McLaren its maiden Pro Series victory while Jesus Sicilia put on a wet-weather masterclass to dominate the Silver contest for Aston Martin.

Silverstone winner Jordan Pepper secured pole position for the Pro race, but the South African only led for a matter of meters as Deletraz (Porsche) made a storming getaway. Things quickly went from bad to worse for Pepper when he was clipped by Barnicoat exiting turn one, sending the Bentley into the run-off and out of contention.

Deletraz led from Barnicoat during the opening stages, but the momentum swung towards the McLaren during the second half-hour. The British ace edged on to the rear of Deletraz and, with 10 minutes to run, made his decisive move into the chicane.

The Porsche came alive once more over the final few laps to allow Deletraz another shot at glory. The two were nose-to-tail on the final lap and made contact at the last corner, but Barnicoat hung on to clinch victory by just seven hundredths of a second.

Andy Soucek was third, the best of four Bentley drivers in the top-10, surviving considerable pressure from the sister machine of Romain Monti. David Perel took fifth, once again finishing as the best-placed Ferrari, followed by Benjamin Tusting (McLaren) and Spa winner Lorenzo Marcucci (Audi), the latter doing brilliantly to salvage points despite his Audi carrying significant success ballast. Alex Buncombe (Bentley), Scott Malvern and Raffaele Marciello (Mercedes-AMG) completed the top-10.

Barnicoat now leads the Pro Series standings on 43 points, nine clear of Deletraz. Marcucci sits third on 31, with Di Lorenzo (27) and Pepper (25) ensuring that five different brands are represented among the top-five drivers.

Heavy rain lashed the Nürburgring for the duration of the Silver Series contest, which saw Italian ace David Tonizza starting from pole in his Ferrari. But, just like Pepper, his lead did not last long. It was another Porsche driver who got the jump, with Eamonn Murphy diving alongside the Ferrari during the opening sequence of corners and then making a move stick.

Tonizza ran second for the opening laps, until Jesus Sicilia moved ahead in his Aston Martin. By half-distance Sicilia was setting a rapid pace and forced his rival into a mistake at the final turn with 20 minutes left on the clock.

While the Pro race remained tight until the finish, the Silver contest was over the moment Sicilia had clear track ahead of him. The Aston pulled away at an astonishing rate, crossing the line 25 seconds clear of Murphy, who narrowly held off the charging Lexus of Axel Petit.

Ufuk Baba was fourth in his BMW, while fifth went to Jack Keithley (Bentley) after a remarkable recovery driver. The British driver was hit with a drive-through penalty on the opening lap, dropping him to the rear of the field, but made rapid progress and captured a richly deserved top-five result.

Tonizza slipped back to sixth, followed by Jan-Marcel Dietrich (Porsche), while David Planiol took eighth after starting 45th and last on the grid. Andrew Franke (Bentley) and Kristian Kwietniewski (Aston Martin) completed the top-10, the latter passing Silverstone winner Patrick Selva (McLaren) late on to bag the final point.

Though he could not capitalise on pole Tonizza heads the Silver Series standings for the first time. The Italian has 29 points and is now the only driver in his class to score at all three events. Sicilia is close behind on 27, followed by Selva and Spa winner Andrea Capoccia on 25. With the exception of Tonizza consistency has been hard to come by, with 26 drivers scoring points over the opening three events.

Organised in collaboration with Kunos Simulazioni and Ak Informatica, the SRO E-Sport GT Series is staged using Assetto Corsa Competitzione, the official video game of GT World Challenge Powered by AWS. The Pro and Silver Series will return to action in two weeks’ time when they tackle Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday 31 May. With opportunities to score points diminishing quickly, the pressure is mounting as drivers look to book their spot on the grid for the grand finale. Barcelona promises to deliver even more sim racing action as the season reaches a crucial phase.

SRO E-Sport GT Series set for busy weekend of sim racing action at Nürburgring and Silverstone

  • Pro and Silver Series tackle round three at Nürburgring
  • Am Series launches at Silverstone
  • AC Milan football ace Alessio Romagnoli joins Pro field in Lamborghini Huracan GT3

The battle to be crowned SRO E-Sport GT Series champion will shift up a gear this weekend (16-17 May) with a trio of Assetto Corsa Competizione races taking place across Saturday and Sunday.

Organised in collaboration with Kunos Simulazioni and Ak Informatica, the multi-event championship features real-world drivers (Pro Series), leading sim racers (Silver Series) and public qualifiers (Am Series), with the best from each class progressing to a winner-takes-all grand finale.

After competing at Spa-Francorchamps last weekend the Pro and Silver contenders are now preparing to tackle the Nürburgring on Sunday afternoon, while the opening Am Series contest will be staged on Saturday evening at Silverstone.

It is less than seven days since Pro Series ace Lorenzo Marcucci led an Audi one-two at Spa, with Ivan Pareras coming home second to complete a dominant display by the German marque. It will be a difficult performance to repeat at the Nürburgring, with each of the five Audi entrants set to carry significant success ballast at the 5.1km circuit.

The top of the championship remains a close-run affair, with the impressively consistent Luigi di Lorenzo (Aston Martin) leading on 27 points. He is followed by Marcucci and Silverstone winner Jordan Pepper (Bentley), both of whom have 25 on the board for their respective victories.

While this trio already look to be on course for the grand finale, the battle to join them on the all-star grid remains fiercely competitive. Ferrari is among the brands yet to take a podium finish, but the Italian marque is well equipped to do so with sim aces David Perel and Nicholas Hillebrand among its drivers. Porsche is also searching for a strong result and will add Belgian ace Alessio Picariello for this weekend’s contest.

It would be no surprise to see a McLaren back on the podium, with works driver Ben Barnicoat and 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button leading the British manufacturer’s charge. Nissan, meanwhile, has just one Pro Series driver to call upon, but Bryan Heitkotter has shown the speed needed to put his GT-R Nismo at the front of the field.

The Mercedes-AMG roster includes several leading talents, while BMW will have extra firepower thanks to works driver Jens Klingmann, who joins the field at the wheel of the Bavarian marque’s M6 GT3. Lamborghini has added a star from another sport, with Italian football ace Alessio Romagnoli set to take the wheel of a Huracan GT3. A regular for AC Milan and on the international stage, Romagnoli will drive the #63 car in the colours of leading real-world squad FFF Racing.

While the Pro standings are tight, the Silver Series championship is even more difficult to predict. Patrick Selva (McLaren) and Andrea Capoccia (Audi) both have 25 points on the board after winning at Silverstone and Spa respectively, placing them level at the top of the standings. In fact, only two drivers have scored in both rounds: Ferrari racers David Tonizza and Enzo Bonito. With neither having finished on the podium at Spa they will compete without success ballast and could be strong victory contenders at the Nürburgring. The same will not be true of the Audi contingent or Lexus driver Hany Alsabti, who will race with added weight following his excellent runner-up finish at Spa.

Lamborghini looks strong, with both Giovanni De Salvo and Kamil Franczak showing excellent pace last weekend, while Mercedes-AMG man Amir Hosseini can always be relied upon to deliver rapid qualifying laps and combative race performances. The battle for victory should also include McLaren drivers Arthur Kammerer and Nils Naujoks who, like Selva, were pegged back by success ballast at Spa.

The Pro and Silver Series will both contest one-hour races on Sunday afternoon, with coverage getting underway at 13:45 CET. The action will air on television and across a variety of online platforms, including the GT World Challenge website, the GT World YouTube account, and the SRO Motorsports Twitch and Facebook pages.

The Am Series also kicks off this weekend, bringing together a field of 40 talented sim racers who qualified via a public hot-lap competition. Their opening one-hour event will take place on Saturday at Silverstone, with a professional broadcast team featuring Vicki Butler-Henderson, Martin Haven and Paul Jeffrey going live on the RaceDepartment Twitch channel at 21:00 CET. With all three categories competing over the coming days, it promises to be the biggest weekend yet for the SRO E-Sport GT Series.

SRO E-Sport GT Series set for all-action contest at Spa-Francorchamps

  • Pro and Silver Series back in action at Spa-Francorchamps
  • Jean-Eric Vergne joins Pro grid as wildcard entrant
  • Extensive coverage begins at 13:45 on Sunday

The SRO E-Sport GT Series resumes battle on Sunday (10 May) when a pair of one-hour Assetto Corsa Competizione races will be staged at Spa-Francorchamps.

Organised in collaboration with Kunos Simulazioni and Ak Informatica, this weekend’s action will feature real-world drivers competing in the Pro Series and expert sim racers contesting the Silver Series. They will tackle the Belgian venue’s world-famous Ardennes circuit, which requires equal parts accuracy and courage to master. The challenge is made even greater by Spa’s notoriously unpredictable weather, which will be just as great a factor in the virtual competition as in real-world racing.

The event follows last month’s season-opening contest at Silverstone, which kicked off the five-round virtual championship with a pair of action-packed races. Bentley factory driver Jordan Pepper began the campaign with a resounding Pro victory, while Silver honours went to Patrick Selva at the controls of a McLaren 720S. As a result, both brands will compete with weight penalties during this weekend’s race.

The Pro field is largely unchanged from the Silverstone contest, with 2009 Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button (McLaren) competing alongside leading GT racers such as Raffaele Marciello (Mercedes-AMG), Albert Costa (Lamborghini) and Christian Engelhart (Porsche). Silverstone winner Pepper leads an impressive contingent of Bentley factory talent, while multiple entries from Aston Martin, Audi, BMW and Nissan brings the total number of Pro brands to 10.

The regular runners will be joined for this weekend’s event by wildcard racer Jean-Eric Vergne, whose diverse racing CV is highlighted by back-to-back FIA Formula E titles. The French ace is set to drive a Ferrari 488 GT3 and will get up to speed with assistance from the Coach Dave Academy, the official SRO E-Sport GT Series driver coaching platform.

The field also features a number of contenders who can draw upon real-world success at the Total 24 Hours of Spa. Ferrari driver David Perel is a two-time class winner, Alex Buncombe (Bentley) took GT4 honours in 2011, while Romain Monti (Bentley) and Kang Ling (Mercedes-AMG) won the Silver Cup class as teammates in 2018.

The Silver Series will once again feature the crème de la crème of Assetto Corsa Competizione racers from across the globe, with Selva’s Silverstone win establishing the McLaren driver as the man to beat. Regular front-runners Arthur Kammerer (McLaren), Amir Hosseini (Mercedes-AMG), David Tonizza (Ferrari) and Nils Naujoks (McLaren) should also be among the pacesetters, with one-lap specialist Hosseini enjoying the benefit of a ballast-free car.

The Silver grid features 11 brands, with the same 10 that will compete for Pro honours joined by Japanese marque Lexus. The field will be further bolstered by the addition of Tim Heinemann, who will drive a Mercedes-AMG GT3 backed by international squad HWA Racelab. The German ace has enjoyed significant success in virtual competition and last year made a winning transition to real-world GT4 racing.

The event broadcast begins at 13:45 CET on Sunday and will air on TV and across a variety of online platforms, including the GT World Challenge website, the GT World YouTube account, and the SRO Motorsports Twitch and Facebook pages. Fans won’t miss a moment of what promises to be a crucial contest for the Pro and Silver Series drivers as they look to secure a spot on the grid for the grand finale. With competition levels rising, Spa is set to deliver the very best in virtual racing action.

Pepper takes Pro win for Bentley, Selva dominates Silver contest with McLaren in SRO E-Sport GT Series opener

  • Bentley factory ace Jordan Pepper kicks off season in style with Pro Series win
  • Patrick Selva in dominant form to take Silver Series victory for McLaren

The new SRO E-Sport GT Series kicked off in exciting fashion today (26 April) with a pair of one-hour Assetto Corsa Competizione races at Silverstone.

Bentley factory driver Jordan Pepper took a commanding victory in the Pro Series, leading for the majority of the contest in his Continental GT3, while Patrick Selva was equally comfortable in the Silver category as he led home a McLaren one-two.

Reserved for real-world drivers, the Pro race was an action-packed affair from start to finish. Fabrizio Crestani snatched pole position thanks to a superb qualifying effort, the Italian outpacing fellow McLaren driver Ben Barnicoat by almost half a second.

Crestani’s advantage did not last long as the fast-starting Barnicoat immediately charged ahead at turn one. The British racer led a McLaren one-two during the early stages, with Crestani close behind and Pepper moving into third thanks to a blistering opening lap.

The defining moment of the race came around the 10-minute mark when Crestani launched an attempt for the lead but made contact with Barnicoat in the process. This proved disastrous for both McLarens, with Crestani dropping to 15th and Barnicoat to 10th.

Pepper assumed the advantage and did not face significant pressure over the remaining 50 minutes. The South African’s eventual margin of victory was a little over seven seconds, completing an excellent season opener for the Bentley marque.

While there was nothing to trouble Pepper out front there was plenty of action taking place behind him. The main story was Barnicoat’s impressive recovery, the McLaren ace scything through to take second thanks to late passes on Luigi Di Lorenzo (Aston Martin) and Raffaele Marciello (Mercedes-AMG).

The two Italians had a fierce battle of their own for a spot on the podium. Marciello sealed the position with a late move, the pair making contact before the Mercedes-AMG ace emerged in front. Di Lorenzo was next across the line, followed by David Perel, who charged from 19th on the grid to take a fine fifth with his Ferrari

Jenson Button ran well in his McLaren, contending for a spot in the points before contact scuppered his chances. Ferrari’s wildcard grand prix ace Charles Leclerc had a more challenging day, the youngster taking an early drive-through penalty and ultimately coming home in 21st.

The Silver Series race featured leading sim drivers and, like the Pro contest, saw two seemingly dominant McLarens make contact at the head of the field. Nils Naujoks led away from pole followed by Jura Petrichenko, but the pair clashed at Vale corner on only the second lap. This relegated Naujoks down the order and earned Petrichenko a penalty that effectively ended his chances.

There was still hope for McLaren, however, as Patrick Selva now held the advantage. Just like Pepper, the new leader made the most of his position, edging away at the front to eventually win by nine seconds. There was a titanic scrap behind him as Mercedes-AMG driver Amir Hosseini fought to keep Arthur Kammerer’s McLaren at bay. It was a valiant effort, but Kammerer eventually made a move stick and pulled well clear to ensure a one-two for the British brand.

The recovering Naujoks then looked to fight his way past but made contact with Hosseini in the process. Naujoks took the chequered flag and seemingly completed a McLaren podium sweep, but was subsequently hit with a time penalty that demoted him to sixth. David Tonizza (Ferrari) would ultimately complete the rostrum, with Alberto Garcia (Bentley) and Hosseini classified ahead of the penalised Naujoks.

With the Pro and Silver Series officially underway, the public hot-lap competition that will decide the Am Series grid begins today. Registration will remain open throughout the process, which concludes on 10 May.

The second set of SRO E-Sports GT Series races will take place on the same date, with the Pro and Silver Series resuming battle in two weeks’ time. They will do so at one of the most challenging circuits in world motorsport, with Spa-Francorchamps next on the schedule for the hotly contested virtual championship.

Ferrari star Leclerc joins SRO E-Sport GT Series grid for Silverstone opener

Formula 1 ace Charles Leclerc has joined a star-studded Pro grid for today’s opening SRO E-Sport GT Series race at Silverstone.

The Ferrari driver will run a specially-liveried version of the Italian brand’s 488 GT3 in the one-hour contest, which kicks off a five-round virtual championship using Assetto Corsa Competizione. Competing as a wildcard entrant, Leclerc will go up against the likes of Jenson Button, Raffaele Marciello and Andy Soucek as part of a stacked Pro field.

Organised in collaboration with Kunos Simulazioni and Ak Informatica, the new SRO E-Sport GT Series features classes for real-world drivers (Pro), leading sim racers (Silver) and public qualifiers (Am). Following this weekend’s Silverstone opener there will be events at Spa-Francorchamps (10 May), the Nürburgring (17 May), Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (31 May), and a track to be decided by public vote (14 June). A grand finale featuring the star performers from each class will conclude the championship, with this venue also chosen by fans.

The action begins with Pro and Silver Series races today (26 April) from 13.45 CET. Each will enjoy full coverage across a range of channels, including the GT World YouTube and Dailymotion accounts and the SRO Motorsports Twitch and Facebook pages.

SRO E-Sport GT Series confirms extensive television and online coverage for 2020 championship

  • Multiple options announced for TV and online viewing
  • Accomplished broadcast team confirmed to anchor multi-event championship

Full broadcast details can now be revealed for the SRO E-Sport GT Series, which kicks off this weekend with a pair of Assetto Corsa Competizione races staged at Silverstone (26 April).
The new multi-event championship will feature the same all-star team that anchored last month’s SRO Charity Challenge, a one-off race at Monza which raised money for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The familiar voice of David Addison will guide fans through the action as lead commentator, reprising his usual role from GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS. Motorsport legend John Watson will also be on hand to provide his frank assessment of the racing.

Events will be hosted by Jack Nicholls, whose experience in both real-world and virtual motorsport makes him a natural fit for the format. Ben Constandurous also combines considerable knowledge of both forms of competition and will once again add depth to the in-race analysis.

A wide variety of viewing options will ensure that fans can enjoy every lap of the SRO E-Sport GT Series on television and online. The Motorvision platform will allow a host of countries to watch the highlights of the races, with its significant reach encompassing key European markets such as France, Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as territories across Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Further TV options will be available in selected European regions, with Sky Italia set to broadcast comprehensive coverage to viewers across the nation. Italy will be further served by a combination of live action and highlights on MSMotor, while Romania will receive the same on Sport Extra. Spain (TV3) and Poland (Eleven Sports) will also enjoy highlights.

In the United Sates and Canada, CBS Sports will broadcast event highlights to a vast audience while airing races live on its Digital channel. Highlights will also be available throughout the U.S. and Canada thanks to MavTV, while Flow Sports will provide the same service to fans in the Caribbean.

In Asia, Astro will air live coverage and highlights to a host of nations across the continent, while PCCW will carry highlights in Hong Kong. New Zealand will enjoy live coverage thanks to Channel 3, while a variety of viewing options in Australia include live action on Speedweek. In Africa, Talent Sport Nigeria will broadcast events to a significant domestic audience, while AZAM TV will air live action in a dozen countries across the continent. The Middle East will also enjoy access to live coverage and highlights on the Africa XP network.

As ever, fans will have access to a wide variety of online viewing options. All races will be broadcast globally on GT-World-Challenge.com, the GT World YouTube account, and the SRO Motorsports Twitch and Facebook pages. Motor Trend On Demand, The Race and Motorsport.com will also air coverage.

Organised in collaboration with Kunos Simulazioni and Ak Informatica, the SRO E-Sports GT Series gets underway on Sunday, with coverage set to begin at 13:45 CET and run through to 16:30. A pair of one-hour Assetto Corsa Competizione contests will be staged at Silverstone, with the Pro (real-world drivers) and Silver Series (invited sim racers) competing separately. The championship will then tackle Spa-Francorchamps (10 May), the Nürburgring (17 May), Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (31 May) and a fifth race (14 June) at a venue decided by public vote.

The star performers from each class – as well as those from the Am Series for public qualifiers – will progress to a grand finale, with the circuit again selected by a fan vote. This winner-takes-all contest will decide who takes the title of 2020 SRO E-Sports GT Series champion. Full details can be found on the series official website: https://sro-esport.com.
